Education, career and background.
Lamprini Rori is Associate Professor in Political Analysis at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Her work examines political violence and extremism, the far right and the far left in Europe, elections, campaigns and party change, and the role of emotions and misinformation in political behaviour, with Greece as her main case.
She holds a PhD in Political Science from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne (2015), awarded with the highest honours and the unanimous congratulations of the jury, an MA in Political and Social Communication from the same university, an MA in Political Sociology and Public Policy from Sciences Po Paris, and a BA in International and European Studies from the University of Macedonia. Her doctoral dissertation examined how the professionalisation of political communication changed the organisation of socialist parties in Europe between the mid-1970s and 2012.
Before joining the University of Athens in 2021, she was a tenured Lecturer in Politics at the University of Exeter, Jean Monnet Fellow at the European University Institute, Early Career Fellow of the British School at Athens, A.G. Leventis Fellow in Modern Greek Studies at St Antony's College, Oxford, and Marie Curie Intra-European Fellow at Bournemouth University, where she led the project “Social media and resurgent ethno-nationalism in Greece”. In 2025 she was Visiting Fellow at the Department of Politics and International Relations of the University of Oxford.
She is a member of the ECPR Steering Committee on Political Violence, of the Board of the Greek Political Science Association and of the Editorial Board of the Greek Social Sciences Review. Before academia she worked in political communication, in the French private sector (Agence Verte, Paris) and as an advisor to Greek government ministers.
